Short evaluation of first music video draft
This music video was successful in producing a video that is easy on the eye. I have found the lip syncing and editing to be good, but the music video is lacking in artistic inspiration, so i believe i need to do some more filming to improve not only the level and content of my video but the visual quality of the video. After getting a few verbal comments from teachers and students, the overall opinion is that it is good but it get very boring quickly as it is just same shots/sequence repeated throughout. In order to improve my music video as i previously suggested i need new footage in possibly a new location in order to create a new aspect to the video and also to create another dimension on which the audience can either understand or relate to in their own way, so i will not be suggesting a certain connotation, but as a part of my genre there is clear and understandable convention/ideas associated with it, so i feel with the new footage i should start to incorporate these into the video as the genre and the artists appeal will become obvious therefore grabbing my audiences attention.
Health and Safety
Throught out my shooting i had to consider different aspects of Health and safety, the major health and safety concern was when we was out filming on the balcony, and i addressed the issue early on with the email to john asking for him the be present whilst we filmed outside, therefore having assistance and having an eye looking out for us. Also the equipment in the green room had to be checked prior to the use, so we got the media technition, ray, to come and set the equipment in my desidered positions

labels and Logos
The ancillary text will require a logo for the recording label as this is a convention of CD's, and my album will require a name, I have decided to go against this convention, as the reasearch i have found there isnt and label name nor logo on many albums produced
Audition phots/decision
From my recruitment poster, i unfortunatly only had two apllicants, The first Oli, he looked good on camera, but he was unable to perform
The second apllicant Brad, this is the artist I have decided to use, as he is a natural in front of the camera and it makes the work look effortless
Recrutiment poster
Below is the poster I am going to use to attract the performer, I will use the tv's around college to advert this and i will also get it put into the college tutor notices
Audition Poster
Around college we have large flat screens they are used to advertise general activities coming up in college. I took the opportunity to create a PowerPoint slide and spoke to Alan Woodcock for permission to advertise. He gave me permission and told me to email my slide to guidance for them to place it in the loop, my advert is now up and will be for the forseeable future until i get enough people to hold an audition
Original Video
Unlike many other people, I have chosen this piece of music as it does not have an existing video, this allows me the create and develop my own representation of the artist, and the meanings behind this video. I chose it as I believed my video - if their was an original - would of been heavily influnenced by it, therefore tainting my own image of the artist
Location permissions
In order to be able to film in the different locations, as the locations i have used in my music video are all based at my college i had to write a letter and email to the site manager to allow access to the outside balcony. I also had to email the media technition in order to be allowed to use the media green room. They both replied with a positive response, and filiming was given the go-ahead
